Introduction

This architectural and interior design project aimed to modernise the Hamburgueria do Bairro restaurants, located in different regions of Portugal. The Bairro Azul restaurant was the first to be redesigned. Combining the group spirit with new cosmopolitan trends, an open kitchen clad in marble was designed, creating a feeling of spaciousness and visual hygiene. The walls are an innovative beige tone, and stand out due to the inclusion of a Viúva Lamego three-dimensional decorative panel.

The lighting is the most prominent aspect of the area of intervention: a cloud of lamps hangs over several of the eating areas, providing different ambiances throughout the day. Maintaining the convivial cosmopolitan, urban feel, a community table and semi-private room for groups were also created. The result is a trendy, cool image which reflects the Lisbon scene and new ways of living and consuming.
