Introduction

With the signature of the architect Marcelo Montoro of S+A Brazil, Nova Lima House surprises with the richness of the selected materials, both in the construction and architecture of the interiors, specifically special steel, exotic woods, a reflective glass roof and a reflecting pool at the centre of the house, a source of light and serenity. Outside, a generous swimming pool, a tennis court and vast green spaces invite leisure, cut-off from the pressures of everyday life and contact with the elements, in search of beauty and fulfilment.

Situated 1.700 metres above sea level, Nova Lima House enjoys the tropical climate that warms Belo Horizonte. Hidden in the Serra da Calçada, it merges with the morphological characteristics of the surrounding landscape. The exterior space becomes an integral part of the house, enhancing the large interiors that, in turn and inversely, blend with the surrounding landscape, blurring the lines between the two and affording an intimate experience with the forest and its mystery.

«It is in this scenario of complicity with nature that four interconnected blocks are set, through a glass covered passageway which organises the flows between the living spaces. In the centre, a large private garden encourages contemplation of the water, fish and exotic vegetation. In the interior, paths spread out among suites, social areas, a spa and cosy corners. The whole set glows with harmony.»
