Introduction
The Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort extension project proposes a two-pronged approach: increasing the accommodation capacity with 21 new rooms and redesigning common areas. In addition to the functionality, the frank and privileged relationship with the exterior and the sea views underpin the key pillars of the resort. Regarding the architectural language of the new wing of rooms, it was reflected on a neutral reinterpretation of the existing image.
From this perspective, the proposed coatings are plastered in pink / ochre, integrating into the shades of the original volumes, leaving the openings in the main elevation emphasised by a recess in the plaster that refers to the use of masonry. Located in Lagos, in one of the most iconic regions of the Algarve, the interior design invites the enjoyment of the different spaces, always referring back to traditional local features. Thus, self-identity does not detract from a solid and distinctive overview.
