Introduction
The project is located in the center of Lisbon, in a building previously used for offices. The main challenge was the implementation of a residential-based programme.
With a typical architectural language marked by a late post-modernism, very much in style in the 1980s, the pre-existing building was, to some extent, inconsistent with the adjacent buildings.
One of the main challenges was to improve the projected image in the city, with the purpose of providing efficient solutions considering the cost/quality binomial, combined with an effective aesthetic and functional performance.
In order to make the existing volumetry (of vertical visual preponderance) more discreet, composed of eight floors above ground, the residential programme resolves the relationship with the exterior surroundings, through large glass panels framed by balconies of horizontal predominance.
