Introduction
The interventions in Lisbon’s Lusíadas Hospital involved the renovation of the main building, whose initial construction dates from 2008 and whose surface area covered 17,932 meters squared. The Adult and Paediatric Emergency Centres were renovated, new areas were created for Gynaecology, Special Exams, Medically Assisted Procreation and Pain Management Consultation, as well as a Doctors’ Lounge for the Operating Rooms, Surgical Outpatients Clinic, Obstetrics Unit and the logistics and Admissions/Main Entrance areas were expanded. The developed projects, most of which have already been completed, intend to improve the quality of service given, providing a more functional and human space, endowed with a new image, which prioritises and promotes contact between health professionals, patients and their companions.
