Introduction
In the context of the appropriation and enhancement of Santa Apolónia Station, which has been the stage for events of great importance, we understand that the preservation of the exterior of the building is essential. The integration of the new elements on the façade must be precise and judicious, a reflection of a moderate intervention.
As a concept for the development of the project, we were interested in the station as a point of departure and arrival, as the setting for events that mark and reflect the life of the Portuguese people and Lisbon, during the various periods of its history. The building as a stage for departure, for travel, emigration, adventure and farewells, and for return, arrivals, new beginnings and the passage between different realities.
