Zagope Head Offices

The design for Zagope’s headquarters in Oyala had a rectangular configuration that unfurled over 5 floors framed by exterior green spaces, where the necessary parking lots were located, as well as the accesses by road network and on foot. The solution presented for the building was based on the development of an integrated administrative area, taking into consideration the achievement of synergies through the concentration of different complementary work stations, and creating a contemporary and cosmopolitan architectural image that was international in reference. The solution developed was a rectangular building with 5 floors, 2 of which were to house offices and social zones, the following 2, support institutions, while the last floor was reserved for management and administration.

  • Location: Oyala, Equatorial Guinea
  • Sector: Workspaces
  • Year: 2011
  • Area: 12.650 sqm
  • Client: Zagope
  • Stage: Primary Study

Proceeding from a regular volume and the connection established between the floors
and proposed uses, the design assumed a perpendicular rotation of the intermediate floors in such a way as to create a building with fronts on all sides. This objective of the design consisted of developing a quality and functional architectural solution that turns a dynamic and contemporary image into a harmonious concept using modern materials and construction techniques. Thus, particular attention is paid to high-quality standards, both in terms of the architecture and construction, so as to provide maximum comfort, safety and functionality, while upgrading the intervention in relation to the architectural concept and image.

The building was to be rectangular in shape, with a clear formal distinction in terms of the façades on account of the thermal behaviour.
Given the administrative and institutional nature of the building and the execution of administrative activities and management services, it was considered appropriate to adopt an implementation that promoted a clear separation of the areas meant for the public (clients) and the other areas (for company employees). The proposed solutions allowed for simplicity in terms of operation, as well as the maintenance and repair of systems and elements of the different parts of the building.
