Verdelago Resort

In the heart of Sotavento Algarvio, with an area exceeding 80 hectares and direct beach access, Verdelago Resort stands out for its harmony with untouched nature, following its own rhythm and revealing its unique beauty. Classified with 5 stars, the resort encompasses various support infrastructures and a wide range of services and amenities, aligned with a healthy lifestyle where nature plays a central role. The appreciation of the territory is evidenced by architecture that adheres to high standards of quality and sustainability.

  • Location: Castro Marim, Algarve
  • Sector: Hospitality / Urban Design / Sustainability
  • Year: 2018
  • Area: 74.396 sqm (phase 1 completion - 2023)
  • Client: Verdelago, Sociedade Imobiliária, SA
  • Stage: Under Construction

Closely linked to the surrounding environment, we employ natural materials and construction techniques, such as Taipa, and local hues for exterior finishes, seeking a perfect symbiosis between the built structures and nature. Boardwalks connect various points of the property to the beach, allowing visitors to enjoy natural spaces, glimpse the scenery from observation towers, all with utmost respect for the surroundings and ensuring the protection of the soil in protected areas such as temporary ponds, natural reserves, cork oak groves, pine forests, etc.

Energy production for the project has been designed and implemented through a photovoltaic central, freeing the building roofs and prioritizing architecture. The central has the capacity to generate the annual energy consumed by the project, even in a cruise year. The exterior lighting system is energy-efficient and minimalist, utilizing LED lighting and minimizing power consumption within the units. Low-inertia heat pumps, among other aspects of construction systems and equipment used (insulation, glass), as well as the use of national materials, aim to minimize CO2 emissions. The wood used in construction undergoes only autoclave treatment, embracing its natural aging and eliminating the need for annual protective and aesthetic enhancement products, reducing required maintenance.
